Happy Thursday! Welcome to the 37th instalment of the Coinbyte Weekly Wrap.

The crypto market staged a strong recovery this week, with Bitcoin rising from a seven-day close of US$76,403.78 to US$84,149 and briefly reaching a weekly high of US$87,363.76, representing a weekly gain of approximately 10.14%. The broader market also strengthened alongside Bitcoin, with most major cryptocurrencies posting solid weekly gains. Bitcoin’s momentum was further reflected in its quarterly performance, with BTC gaining about 44% in Q3, marking its strongest quarterly performance since Q4 2024. Bitcoin also closed above its 50-week moving average for the first time in 45 weeks and is on track for its first three-month winning streak since 2012, adding to expectations of a broader recovery across the crypto market.

The stronger momentum also spread across major altcoins. Ether gained 10.11%, BNB rose 6.63%, Solana advanced 15.48%, and Cardano climbed 22.46%. Dogecoin also gained 16.46%, while TRX rose 2.37%. Trading activity remained elevated during the week, with BTC’s seven-day average daily volume reaching approximately US$35.5bn, USDT turnover at around US$84.9bn, and ETH and SOL recording approximately US$16.4bn and US$4.7bn respectively. Despite the strong weekly performance, the latest 24-hour session saw a pullback across major assets, with BTC down 2.95%, ETH down 2.72%, SOL down 3.02%, and ADA down 6.23%.

Institutional participation and regulatory developments remained important themes behind the broader market momentum. Strategy spent US$76 million to purchase 950 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 846,000 BTC, while Strive added 1,355 BTC as it accelerated toward its year-end treasury target. Bitmine also purchased 27,562 ETH, bringing it closer to its target of holding 5% of Ethereum’s supply. Meanwhile, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded nearly US$1 billion in single-day inflows, while JPMorgan continued to assess Bitcoin’s position relative to gold. On the regulatory side, the CFTC submitted its crypto asset rulemaking to the White House for review, marking further progress toward a regulatory framework under existing agency authority after the CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate. Tom Lee also said that “the crypto bull market has begun,” adding to the positive market narrative surrounding the current recovery.

Beyond market performance and institutional activity, blockchain infrastructure and new applications continued to expand. Google Cloud and Apple are hiring digital asset and Web3 talent, highlighting continued interest from major technology companies in blockchain infrastructure, tokenization and digital payments. Stablecoins and AI also emerged as key themes, with BlackRock saying that AI agents making autonomous payments could drive the next wave of stablecoin demand. The CFTC also highlighted mass tokenization, onchain finance and 24/7 markets as areas for future development. Together, these developments point to continued expansion of the digital asset industry across regulation, institutional adoption, stablecoins, tokenization, blockchain infrastructure and the growing connection between blockchain and AI.

Overall, this week’s market action showed a broad-based recovery, with Bitcoin gaining more than 10% over seven days and several major altcoins posting even stronger gains. The combination of strong quarterly momentum, continued institutional accumulation, nearly US$1 billion in single-day spot Bitcoin ETF inflows, regulatory progress and expanding blockchain infrastructure provided a backdrop for the week’s stronger market performance. At the same time, developments across stablecoins, tokenization and AI showed that the crypto market’s growth continues to extend beyond price performance into broader financial and technological applications.
